Tentang Elizabeth Rachel
Hi! I’m Rachel, a passionate music educator and musician with a background in Music Education and extensive experience teaching piano, cello, and general music. I believe that music is not only about learning an instrument, but also about discovering creativity, building confidence, and finding a meaningful way to express yourself.
I have experience working with students of different ages, levels, and learning needs, and I enjoy creating lessons that are both structured and enjoyable. My teaching style is warm, patient, and adaptable—I take the time to understand each student and find approaches that help them learn best.
I hold a degree in Music Education from Universitas Negeri Jakarta and a Master’s degree in Gifted Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. My academic and teaching experiences have given me a strong foundation in both music and education, allowing me to combine musical development with thoughtful, individualized teaching.
Whether you are a complete beginner, a student looking to develop your technique, or someone preparing for a performance or competition, I would love to help you grow as a musician and enjoy the journey along the way!

My teaching approach is student-centered, engaging, and adapted to each student’s individual needs, learning style, and musical goals. I believe that learning music should be both structured and enjoyable, so I combine technical development with musical expression, creativity, and confidence-building.
My lessons incorporate a variety of methods depending on the student, including demonstration and imitation, singing, movement, rhythm activities, ear training, music reading, repertoire practice, and creative musical activities. For younger students, I use age-appropriate and play-based approaches to develop musicality while gradually introducing foundational skills. For students preparing for performances or competitions, I provide a more structured approach focusing on technique, interpretation, musical understanding, and performance preparation.
Each lesson is available in 30, 45, or 60-minute sessions, depending on the student's age, level, attention span, and learning goals.
I hold a degree in Music Education from Universitas Negeri Jakarta and have extensive experience teaching piano, cello, and general music to children and students of different ages and abilities. I have also pursued graduate studies in Gifted Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, which has strengthened my understanding of differentiated instruction and individualized learning.
My lessons are suitable for children, teenagers, and adults, from complete beginners to intermediate and advanced students. I also welcome students who would like to learn music for personal enjoyment, school development, performances, or competitions. My goal is to help every student build a meaningful and lasting relationship with music while developing their skills at their own pace.
