Tentang Lydia
Learning a new language from scratch can feel a little scary, especially when you’re not sure where to begin. That’s why I want my lessons to feel relaxed, clear, and encouraging from the very first step.
Hi, I’m Lydia, an English Literature graduate from Samarinda, Indonesia. I’m a translator, interpreter, and language tutor who has been teaching since 2011.
I’ve always believed that learning a language is about more than memorising vocabulary and grammar rules. For me, a language is a tool to understand others, express yourself, and connect with people. That’s also what I always emphasise with my English students: I want them to understand how the language works so they can build their own sentences and express their thoughts more freely, rather than simply memorising what they’ve been taught.
I bring the same approach to my Indonesian lessons. My classes are designed especially for complete beginners, with simple explanations, practical examples, and plenty of room to learn at your own p(e)ace. My goal is to help you feel comfortable with Indonesian from the very beginning—not perfect, just confident enough to start using it.
