Tentang Y Amanda
Namaste Main hoon Amanda (=I am Amanda). I graduated as Master of Communications from Universitas Indonesia. I’m native Indonesian but I speak Hindi fluently. My Hindi fluency has approved by various media in Indonesia bcoz I’ve created subtitles of Hindi movies & Hindi TV Series which airing here.
I intend to teach Bahasa Indonesia (my native language) for Indian expatriates. Why? Indian expatriates speak English fluently but not all of people in Indonesia speak English fluently. This is the communication gap between Indian expatriates & native Indonesians. In the end, that makes Indian expatriates socializing with Indians origins (who live in Indonesia for years as Indonesian citizens). Unlike expatriates from other countries, Indian expatriates are known for exclusivity with their own people. It’s not bad thing. But befriend with Indonesian co-workers in your office or in your apartment is fun. Indonesians are the friendliest nation around the world. Learning session will be online & offline. Online class is via Zoom/Google Meet and offline class will take place in my office, student’s office or another conducive place (cafe/resto, cinema, etc especially for Outside Challenge.
My teaching is based on curriculum of Bahasa Indonesia untuk Penutur Asing/BIPA (=Bahasa Indonesia for Foreign Speakers) which composed by Ministry of Education & Culture. But I deliver it in fun way & more practical way. For example, I’ll also teach you popular slang language. I guarantee after each session you can understand what we,Indonesians talk around you & if you’re confident, you can join the conversation or reply some words. Based on BIPA Curriculum by Govt, there will be 15 level of speaking Bahasa Indonesia which every 3 level you will do Outside Challenge: talk to native in different occasions (e.g. from order food in cafe, go somewhere by public transportation, fill forms in Bahasa Indonesia, until speak formally to Immigration officer,for instance). We will apply it also in our class & I’ll guide you. This is to make sure after our class completed, you can speak Bahasa Indonesia fluently & you will not find difficulties in communication wherever you are in entire Indonesia.
