Tentang Michaela
Hello, my name is Michaela but you can just call me Mika. I am very passionate and enthusiastic in teaching the Chinese language. I love language because it carries beauty and thought. While the study of languages seems monotonous and meticulous to many people, to me it is an unfathomable ocean of fun. My initiation of Chinese study originated from my obsession to literary aestheticism. Literary works are the inspirations from writers’ hearts. I simply want to share my knowledge of Chinese language and my perceptions of life with others. It is well-said that “for education to be an enriching experience, the meanings that emerge must become personal, and they must be significant and important in some part of the person’s life.” My concept of a teacher is that a teacher should not merely act as a gateway to knowledge. A person can become a better teacher by influencing students with his or her passion, enthusiasm, and dedication, by exposing students to the beauty of the things that are being taught.
I am a very patient teacher. I have a lively and cheerful personality. Even if you don't have any foundation in Chinese, don't worry. In class, I will teach you the basics of Chinese, how to pronounce and write Chinese characters. If you have mastered basic Chinese; we can customised the lessons to meet the requirements of your specified study plan and improve your speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. If you want to take the HSK/TOCFL exam, I can also help you to prepare for the exam. I will create a learning modules tailored to your study plan so that you can learn Chinese easily and with joy in the shortest possible time.
