  Yes, my background in life and the people I found inspiring, both have affected my English proficiency. I pursued my Senior High School in the UAE back then in 2017, and graduated in 2019. Since the school curriculum that I went to was British-based, the educational stages are quite different from other countries' curriculum, including Indonesian curriculum. So I earned the GCSE certification instead of a Senior High School one. During my GCSE studies, I was actively involved in the English Language and Literature class. At the same time, I eventually realised that my English is never the same from the first time I entered the English class in my school. A massive improvement on my speaking, writing, reading, listening and analysing. I personally think studying a language directly from where the language is actually from helps boost your English very effectively.
  
  
  Additionally, there are many great people who have inspired me to learn English but these two people have been the most impactful ones for my journey of learning English; my English teacher and Krist Soup, an American Youtuber. I really love my English teacher because of her personality and the way she teaches English. She speaks very clear English and has deep yet analytical opinions. I learned so much from my English teacher, especially the techniques she taught me that are useful for writing and speaking. Then, the Youtuber Krist Soup. I've been following her videos since 2016 and got inspired by her later on. Her speaking style is simple and refreshing. She creates art and lifestyle videos which project creativity. By listening to her every day, my vocabulary and listening skills are improving.

• Dapatkah Anda menyebutkan karakter atau tokoh yang hidup, historis atau fiktif yang menurut Anda merupakan representasi simbolik dari sebuah budaya bahasa yang anda ajarkan?

  Harry Potter. Definitely. And as for the historical figure, William Shakespeare could also be the one who represents the language I teach.

• Apakah ada kata khas, frasa, tradisi, atau perilaku dalam bahasa yang Anda sukai?

  Maybe more like a motivational quote? I really like this motivational quote: "nothing is impossible, the word itself says I'm possible".

• Mengapa berbicara bahasa ini penting bagi Anda?

  Learning English is important because once you know English, it allows you to know issues from different countries, enhances your quality of life and opens up opportunities for you.

• Apa kesulitan utama dalam mempelajari bahasa ini dan apa yang dapat membantu Anda dalam proses pembelajaran?

  At the beginning, I had hard times choosing the right terms to form proper sentences which delayed the process of thinking and therefore, I wasn't able to speak fast. Also, my low level in confidence was affecting my speaking the whole time because I was afraid to get judged, which isn't 100% true.
  
  
  From this issue, I learned that to be flawless is not the key. In fact, not all Indonesians know how to speak Indonesian fluently and vice versa, not all the native English speakers are aware of the grammatical errors they may create in chat. I think what matters the most is whether you're capable of being confident or not when speaking. When you're confident, it will minimise your mistakes. So, what I used to do was having a monologue with myself regularly. The topic can be anything and make sure to express your own opinion as much as you can. This has successfully made me feel more confident about myself and speak better English.

• Ceritakan pengalaman unik atau menarik Anda yang pernah terjadi selama pengalaman Anda mengajar bahasa.

  So I had one mother approach me to teach her two daughters English. I was so excited yet nervous because this is going to be my first experience teaching toddlers (they are 4 and 5 years old). I was a student living in a dormitory which was located far away from where this family was, in a city center. So, the journey was a bit costly since I owned no transportation and therefore, I booked an online transportation to get to their place.
  
  
  As soon as I arrived at their place, the mum welcomed me humbly. The mum and two daughters are Koreans living in Indonesia. Mum speaks Indonesian and English quite well, however, the kids don't. So, I was struggling to get the kids' attention when I only spoke in English. What made it more difficult for me is the lack of experience teaching young kids age 4 or 5. So I came there with no preparation and no lesson materials. It was an awkward situation for the mum, kids and myself as I tried to match myself and the kids' excited energy (most of the time they weren't listening to me and were playing with their toys and Ipad instead).
  
  
  After the trial course, the mum and I had a little evaluation and we shared the same thoughts that the kids are still in their 'playing' stage or by means, not ready to study. Two years later I activated my Superprof profile. Around 1⁄3 students that I teach are between 5-7 years old. I learnt so much from my past experience and now the parents recommend their friends to have me as their kids' private English tutor.

• Bagaimana pengalaman Anda dapat membantu Anda meningkatkan keterampilan dan pengetahuan Anda tentang bahasa?

  My experience helps increase my knowledge of the English language through improving my skills, particularly soft skills. As I already mentioned earlier, before all the teaching experience I was still an unconfident and unskilled individual. Since experience comes with time, practice and exposure, this leads to gaining knowledge and building my confidence which is important for this job.

• Apa yang membuat Anda menjadi seorang Guru teladan dalam hal bahasa?

  Passion, ambition and self-determination. I believe that your visions, goals and passion shape the person you are right now and in the future. Honestly, I wouldn't be working as an English private tutor if I wasn't passionate about English and tutoring.
